Skrifpúltið

Today I went cross-country skiing for the first time in more then a year. Skiing on lake Mývatn in -15°C calm and sunny weather..... well, there´s nothing exactly like that.

I was in a shitty mood the other day so I went out for a walk. I took a photo of a nearby trees and tonight I decided to do a very loos and free version of them.

It always feels strange to me to talk about my studio. It sounds so professional and since I´m just a hobby watercolorist, I usually just talk about my hobby room. I actually gave it the name Pompidou when we first moved in- but the name got confused in my wife´s head and she said "Hobby-do". So that´s what we have always called it after that. Few weeks ago we were visited by a photographer called Aline Fournier from Switzerland and she spent some time with me in Hobby-do and I painted her a sketch from a local lamb chop feast. I´m very happy with the outcome and as times go by I think these photos will be very dear to me.

Yesterday I did little bit of this and that. Mostly postcard sized doodle with my new big fellow. The one with the birch and the house looks alright from a distance to.

Continued my journey with my no. 30 da Vinci but this time I got lost in details and lost the feeling.

I'm hooked on small sheets and big brushes at the moment. This is from Skolavordustigur, Reykjavik.

I had a walk before lunch today. I tried to put it on paper when I got back home even though I didn´t take any pictures.
